Easter 2011

Although some strange allergy/cold sickness thing has taken residence in my sinus cavity, we still enjoyed our Easter weekend.  We celebrated secular style with our neighborhood the weekend before Easter weekend with and egg hunt on "the avenue" with some of our friends.  We prepared our house the following week.   I was able to decorate the girls new Easter baskets this year with ribbon, tulle, and flowers and beads and added fresh spring/summer flowers throughout the front and back our our home.  We even got to hang window boxes!  A super fun east coast row house tradition.  Our color theme for the flowers so far this year are red, purple, and white.   We enjoyed a Easter sunrise service with our church that was held outside downtown Old Town.  The weather was perfect.  The girls and I wore sundresses with sandals and no tights.  That is always a sign of summer in my eyes.  We gathered with the church for Easter breakfast and then we hosted Easter lunch for our friends.  Seven kids 3 and under and eleven adults.  We followed our meal with and egg hunt around our home then some egg coloring on the deck.  The temperature during our hunt was 87 degrees.  Super hot.  Foxy loved it!

Easter On the east Coast

We celebrated Easter this year on the East Coast with our two little ones.  On Saturday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at our friends church and then we colored eggs at our house which then turned into deviled eggs for Sunday. We started Sunday off by going to mass and then made our way to our friends home for a late afternoon lunch and Easter egg hunt.  The weather was perfect.  We had a wonderful weekend of celebration.  Now that Lent is over I hope to post more.  Although I gave up Facebook and Twitter for Lent I felt guilty posting on the Blog like I was compensating by posting photos and thoughts here.  I trust that Easter was lovely in all of your cities as well!
