Down on the Farm
This past week was my first full week alone with both girls since we moved to the East Coast. It was challenging and my goal each day was to get as many activities in to tire them out. I did find time with both girls awake, and of course assisting my every move, to recover the bench in my entryway. The old material was bothering me. I continued my "redecoration" average of changing things around about every three months. I guess that shows how board I get with things. We ended the week with a trip to N's grandparents farm in the Midwest. It was both M. and I.'s first flights. All in all the traveling went well, but the best was how well our girls slept each night. It was truly a miracle. I. was sure to remind us that she was back on East Coast time when she woke us up as usual in the middle of the night last night with her blood curdling scream. We can only dream of the days in the Midwest where both girls slept so soundly and we actually woke them up each morning. It was great celebrating Grandpa's 81st birthday with the family. Long summer days, lots of family, and lovely sleeping. Thanks-we love you!

Welcome Home Daddy
My husband was gone for the weekend to a wedding in MN. Although he and I texted and phoned the girls didn't get to interact with him much. They couldn't wait to see him at the arrival gate at the airport. We stood at the end of the walkway waving our "Welcome home Daddy" signs, applauding, and screaming (I. did that). M. pulled is luggage the entire way back to our car. Of course refusing any assistance, even on the uphill ramps. The long weekend by myself with the girls was all worth it for the moment N. saw his girls greeting him on Father's Day. We ordered in Chinese-daddy's favorite. After tucking the girls in we went out for dessert in Old Town. We had a lovely night reminiscing about the years we have been married (today is our anniversary) and what the future has in store for us. You can't beat a hot summer night in Old Town. Father's Day yesterday, 7 year wedding anniversary and N's first day at his new job today. Needless to say it's a big week. Love you forever honey.

Home to Foxy
We cleaned our car today and road our bikes to get Foxy registered in our new city. Foxy is officially an East Coast resident. The tag to put on her collar is nearly half the size of her ear, and that's big. As for M. she is so close to being potty trained, over half way there. THIS is exciting. I. on the other hand narrates the day with a lot of "uh-ohs" and with clapping.

The Berkeley Babes Updates
Words: I.'s vocabulary has grown quite a bit over the last few weeks. She says "good girl", "watch out", "uh-oh", "oh boy", "clap", "daddy", "ma-ma-ma-ma". She even says "guck" for "duck" like M. used to say. M.'s vocabulary is also growing leaps and bounds. She is getting better at saying her cousins names and actually said "Grandma" today.
Sleeping: I. stands and screams for us to come in and get her from sleeping, very joyful that is. Today was the first time in a very long time that she woke up from her nap talking, and playing until we went in to get her. How much better is that? M. on the other hand is trying to hurdle the rail of her crib. Although she is not successful at this point, that day will soon come and we are not looking forward to it.

Tea, Bubbles, and Chalk, oh my!
The girls and I went to our friends daughter's 3rd Birthday Tea Party yesterday. It was lovely. There were five little 2-3 year olds, 3 babies, and one pregnant mama. All-in-all the actual brunch portion went well. The little girls were so prim and proper as they sipped there "tea". M. is not the best with "real" cups yet so the water ended up all over her dress, but she had a blast! This morning we have been enjoying the outdoors with chalk and bubbles on the back porch while I. took her nap. A bike ride with the girls and a friend of ours is in store for the afternoon as long as the storm holds off. Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day (or later this evening)!
