Christmas 2010

We celebrated this year on the East Coast again with our little girls.  I picked up all call shifts for the weekend and was only called in once, on the lazy Sunday afternoon.  The girls had such a great time playing and eating and running around with their strollers on the hardwood floors.  M. got her first tool set, cowgirl dress up clothes and keyboard and I. got an electric piggy bank, her first babydoll and a tent.  We made our first turkey, homemade cinnamon rolls, and the usual casseroles to celebrate.  My husband kept busy with his new kindle and we had a family bowling tournament with our new Wii from my parents.  We then made our way to the Midwest to ring in the New year with more Christmas celebrations.  The girls loved hanging out with there and of course playing with Rex.  The stay was fairly relaxed aside from the usual sleep deprivation, which I have finally concluded that after 2.5 years that we will never sleep more than 6 hours two nights in a row until the girls are 20+.  This made the headache, etc. more manageable.   Too make up for the lounging, no sleep weekend, fun with family weekend I. ended it with a 50+ minute screaming/wrangle fest on the plane trip home.  N. and I divided the terror in two shifts.  When she finally fell asleep in his arms, you could here true silence on the plane and then moments later a quiet rumble.  As if the fellow guests could now converse and actually hear the person talking next to them.  Have I ever said that we will never fly again with a 2 and 1 year old?  Remind me later when another trip comes up.  We are unpacked and settling into a routine back here.  For this new year we vow not to move.  Three moves in 15 months was enough for 2010.  Happy New Year!!
